It was the league's two strongest teams that met and both offered a wonderful and fast-paced event.

But it took a while before the players had set their sights.

Despite plenty of goal chances in both directions, the first period ended goalless.

The ketchup bottle was really opened in the second, which offered six goals, of which the guests accounted for four - Leksand had not done so many away from home against Skellefteå since 1975 (!).

- We come out well from the start, play well in the first and well in the second.

But we have our best period left, says Leksand veteran Mattias Ritola to C More in the second period break.

Skellefteå fell again

Then he had scored his first goal of the evening, a shot from Mirco Müller to 3-1, Ritola's third goal of the season.

Leksand's other scorers in the eventful intermediate period were Carter Camper, Matt Caito and Jon Knuts.

For Skellefteå, it was now a loss again.

After eleven straight victories, the impressive suite was broken in the last match against Örebro.

Now they combed zero again, despite a good match.

The problem was that Leksand played even better.

The Dala team impressed right through, not least the willingness to sacrifice in the defensive game and the game in numerical disadvantage was brilliant.

Lindholm an asset

It did not help Skellefteå that NHL returnee Pär Lindholm in his first game at home since 2018 showed that he is guaranteed to be an asset during the league sprint and upcoming playoffs.

In the middle of the third period, Skellefteå's Joakim Lindström was able to dribble his way through the Leksand defense and score his second goal of the evening.

But Skellefteå never came closer than a one-goal deficit, which after its long winning streak now went on its second loss in a row.

Just before the end, Mattias Ritola managed to find a gap at the nearest post and from almost no angle at all score his second goal of the evening.
