Norwegian biathlon star Marte Olsbu Röiseland has had a really tough start to the World Cup.

Röiseland, who took a total of seven medals at the last World Cup, has a sixth place in the sprint as the best place so far.

When Hanna Öberg took silver on Tuesday, the Norwegian finished in a heavy 20th place.

Afterwards she broke down.

In an interview with Norwegian NRK, the tears came.

- This is obviously not my championship.

It's against me and it's very hard.

It goes well if it happens once or twice, but when it happens again and again it feels hopeless, she tells NRK.

The teammate supports

Instead, it is Tiril Eckhoff who has been responsible for the biggest Norwegian success in Pokljuka.

She has so far won three World Cup golds in four competitions.

But she also suffers with her teammate.

- First and foremost, I feel sorry for her.

During the last championship she had a flow that was almost scary.

Then she comes to this championship with a yellow vest and will defend the World Cup gold from last year.

She gets off to a bad start and then it is clear that something is happening with her self-confidence.

"Looks dark"

Röiseland has been involved in the battle for the medals until the last shooter in all individual competitions.

But well there it has not gone as usual, just as in Tuesday's distance.

- Talking about self-confidence after a race like today, it looks a bit dark.

I actually do not know what to say, Röiseland said after the distance competition.
