When many strong skiers shot away early, Sturla Holm Lägereid held all the way.

He put all 20 shots, and at the finish he was almost 17 seconds ahead of German runner-up Arnd Pfeiffer after a strong ride in the track.

- I started a little later than the others and had times to go on.

It suited me well.

I started offensively, lost a little at the end, but it was enough for gold, says Sturla Holm Lägereid.

Together with Pfeiffer and Swedish Peppe Femling was one of the few who shot full.

- I may have had a little nerves today, but the plan was to take one shot at a time. And I'm glad I did. I put all 20 shots, and that's what makes me win a medal today. And even gold, says Sturla Holm Lägereid.
