In less than two months, Swedish elite football will start, but the clubs do not yet know if it will be another season without an audience or not.

But a step closer to supporters in the stands came today.

According to the government's new proposal, events and general gatherings will be regulated according to four categories: indoor events, indoor events with seating, outdoor events and exercise races.

"Exactly what we wanted"

The government has also asked the Swedish Public Health Agency to issue more detailed regulations that take into account the size of an arena or facility.

A good news for elite football.

- This is exactly what we wanted and worked for quite a long time.

It is good that you work so that all activities can fall under the Pandemic Act and are given an opportunity to have a customized solution.

Because we can, says Mats Enquist to SVT Sport.

Want a meeting with FHM

Now you have to get the chance to talk to the Public Health Agency, which takes the regulation further, says Enquist.

- We now aim to showcase our solutions.

We have a huge opportunity to make flexible solutions, but we must talk to the Swedish Public Health Agency about it, of course.

Enquist explains that there are already plans for how the various clubs could handle audiences on site.

- We ourselves have developed a number of solutions that are adapted based on different arena types and based on different infection situations.

We have different matrices with measures so we can change protection measures match by match depending on the infection.

We have a very large ability to make adjustments.

Among other things, Malmö FF has made an analysis of their match days.

How the supporters travel to the arena and what the crowd flow can look like.

An example of how football prepares.

"Located in the starting pits"

But as I said, there are only months left until the premiere.

- In normal cases, tickets are sold already now.

It can not be done when you have no idea what is going on.

So the sooner we can get some frames to follow, the better, says Mats Enquist.

- We are in the starting pits.

We are ready to take great responsibility.

We can only hope that we get in from the replacement booth now, says Mats Enquist.
