The 2021 Men's Afrobasket, which will take place from August 24 to September 5, has its first qualified country, besides Rwanda, automatically qualified as the host country.

Nigeria, vice-champion of Africa in 2017, validated their ticket this Wednesday, February 17.

The D'Tigers have a fourth success in four games in group D of the qualifiers, against South Sudan in Monastir, Tunisia (70-75).

Nigerians are sure to be there this summer thanks to this victory.

In the other match of the day, Mali beat Rwanda (76-51).

The Malians return to the height of South Sudan, their next opponent on February 18.

This match will be very expensive in the race for qualification.

Rwanda occupies the fourth and last place in Group D, the eliminatory one, but this is irrelevant, since the country is therefore guaranteed to play Afrobasket as the host country.
