The coach of the XV of France Fabien Galthié was "diagnosed positive for Covid-19", announced Tuesday the French Rugby Federation.

A series of tests, carried out Monday, had indeed revealed two positive cases within the technical staff of the Blues, including the coach.

Initially presented as "a suspicious and not proven case", Galthié was retested during the day and is therefore positive for Covid-19.

Players and support, gathered at the National Rugby Center (CNR) in Marcoussis, were placed in isolation and "interactions are limited to the maximum," says the Federation.

"In accordance with the health protocol in force, the two members of the management, whose isolation began yesterday evening (Monday), will continue to isolate themselves for seven days", specifies the FFR.

Players tested again on Wednesday

“Their activities will continue to be carried out remotely.

To date, no symptoms have been observed, ”adds the instance.

The entire selection will be retested on Wednesday morning at the CNR.

The 31 players, as well as the staff, have been meeting in Marcoussis since Monday, returning from Dublin, where the XV of France won for the first time since 2011, Sunday (15-13).
