Australian Olympic champion arrested for drugs worth more than 1.5 million dollars

Australian Olympic swimmer Scott Miller has been arrested over allegations that he transported more than 2 million Australian dollars (1.5 million US dollars) worth of methamphetamine hidden in candles, local media reported in Australia.

New South Wales Police Officer John Watson said that two men, 45 and 47, were arrested in Sydney this morning, and that they will be accused of distributing large commercial quantities of methamphetamine.

Watson did not name the two men, but Australian media reported that the 45-year-old was Miller, a swimmer who won a silver and bronze medal for Australia at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Watson said that the two men were hiding drugs in candles, "adding that eight candles, each carrying about half a kilogram of methamphetamine, were seized.
