Agents of players considered that "the absence of financial control as required of football companies in the Arab Gulf League clubs is behind the waste of these clubs' funds in deals that are futile for players and coaches."

The winter transfers, which were closed at the beginning of this month, saw the 14 clubs concluded 44 deals between citizens, foreign and resident players, to consolidate their ranks in the second half of the current season.

In an interview with Emirates Today, the agents pointed out that the clubs spent government money on deals that did not positively affect the level of the league and the national team, and some attributed this to the club’s football companies ’lack of an“ expert eye ”that can choose the right players according to their needs.

Walid Al-Shamsi said: "It is clear that there is no accountant or censor over the contracts of some football companies."

He added: “Let us agree that we do not own football companies in their professional sense. Rather, from my point of view, they are companies that spend money only on implementing the requirements of professionalism stipulated by the AFC, and do not master sports work properly, because its most important priority is preserving club money and attracting Successful deals can achieve the required addition, and examples are many in our league. There are cases of players who have been hired with huge sums of money, and they did not provide any addition equivalent to the huge financial numbers that were spent on them.

He added: “I regret to say that the financial waste was not at the level of foreign players or coaches only, but extended to residents, as some football companies circumvented the resident player law and brought in foreign players from outside the country, although the main goal of this decision is to benefit Among them are those born in the country and residing in it, and this is another waste ».

He pointed out, "There are some weak souls who work in clubs, and benefit from deals and transfers of players and coaches, and I say this from the experience of 20 years in the agency of players, and this quality wastes big money in useless deals."

It is noteworthy that out of 44 deals concluded in the winter, the clubs contracted with 14 national players, in exchange for 30 foreigners (including resident players).

On the other hand, the current season has witnessed the departure of a total of seven coaches so far, including three coaches, at the beginning of 2021.

For his part, Adel Al-Amiri explained, "We cannot call the deals that took place in the winter transfers a waste of money, as much as it is the absence of an expert eye in the choices of players."

He continued: "During the winter transfers, the new deals are not of the high level of ambition required, as most clubs do not dispense with their distinguished players at this time, and if that happens, it will be with large sums of money."

He added: “In general, there is no expert eye in football companies, through which they can bring players at the level of ambition, whether in the winter or summer periods, and the reason is known, due to the absence of coaches from the formation of football companies' committees, and with all my respect for administrators or even retired players. "They cannot choose a professional player with the same specifications and capabilities of coaches."

In turn, Mohamed Ibrahim explained that changing foreigners in the winter transfers are decisions imposed on clubs, and their officials do not have the luxury of changing in many cases.

He said, "No club wants to change or waste public money, but technical problems that occur during the League Championship force change in the winter."

He also said: “The second transfer period often does not witness successful deals as many expect, and the reason is that lack of time is an obstacle for new players to present themselves in the required manner, because of the failure to achieve the required harmony, unlike the summer transfers, in which the opportunity is available to foreigners on the face of it. Determining to better adapt to their teams. ”

He continued: “Most of the changes that are made are due to the coaches’ convictions of some names and players, and as soon as these coaches leave, especially in the middle of the season, changes occur at the level of foreigners, due to the convictions of the new coaches with other names of players, and in the end it is the clubs that pay the price, despite the administrators. In general, they strive to achieve the aspirations of their fans, which drives them to make improvements to their teams, but whether success or not depends on success.
