  • Many elected Marseillais of all political stripes reacted strongly to the desire of the OM to break the convention which binds them to the clubs of supporters.

  • After announcing the launch of “Agora OM” to reclaim the term of supporter against “violent gangs”, OM sent a formal notice to supporters' clubs with the desire to break this convention.

He has succeeded in the feat of putting almost all of the supporters on his back, he is on the way to achieving that of pitting the Marseillaise political class against him.

Jacques-Henri Eyraud, the president of OM has aroused strong reactions from many elected officials in Marseille since Monday evening, after the announcement of the launch of "Agora OM", then sending an email to supporters associations Notifying them of a formal notice regarding the possible termination of the agreement binding them to Olympique de Marseille.

The mayor of Marseille, Benoît Payan, announced that he had written to JHE, "so that he calms things down" after this "incomprehensible" notice.

His deputy Samia Ghali called on Sports Minister Roxana Maracineanu to ask for conciliation.

Martine Vassal, president of the metropolis and of the Bouches-du-Rhône department informed the president "that it was necessary to win matches and work with the supporters".

Termination for fault

On Monday, Olympique de Marseille announced the launch of “Agora OM”, a consultation for “all football and OM lovers to reclaim the term of supporter so that it is no longer captured by violent gangs ”.

This project is a response to the incidents of the Commanderie on January 30th.

But it was above all the formal notice sent to the groups of supporters, which ignited the fire.

Our dossier on OM

In this letter that

20 Minutes

was able to consult, Hugues Ouvrard, the managing director, announces that he is considering "to pronounce the termination of the agreement for fault".

He clearly accuses the groups of supporters of being at the origin of the incidents of the Commandery even though legal proceedings are underway.

"We note that you did not even deign to condemn these facts of a particular gravity", advances the general manager.

Which is false, the groups condemned the violence in a joint statement.

It remains to be seen how Jacques-Henri Eyraud and OM will get out of this break that they are themselves digging.
