Zamalek club spokesperson Essam Salem revealed the position of Tunisian team star Ferjani Sassi, which was one of the reasons for the team's rise to the CAF Champions League final and winning the Egyptian and African Super Cups, and Salem revealed Zamalek's position on the recent financial crisis that the club is going through.


The Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports had decided to dissolve the former Zamalek board of directors headed by Mortada Mansour, due to suspicion of financial and administrative corruption, and to appoint a tripartite committee headed by Counselor Emad Abdel Aziz to run the White Castle affairs until new elections are held.



Issam Salem said during an intervention on the "Kick Off" program on "On Sport FM": "The file of the extension of the contract for Ferjani Sassi has not been closed, and the Zamalek club is sticking to its continuity to the fullest extent of its great value. We need to continue all elements of experience in the first team, and once the crisis is resolved." Finance will successfully complete this file and Ferjani Sassi will continue with us. "



On the player's signature for another club, he said: “Ferjani Sassi, he did not sign for Pyramids or any other club, and sources close to the player confirmed that to us and we learned that he requested to close the door to negotiations with any party pending the decision of Zamalek for his position and the provision of the materials for his desire to stay with us.”



He continued: "Zamalek's material crisis will end within the next few hours, and the ban on club assets will be lifted. The tripartite committee has obtained promises to solve the crisis and overcome all obstacles, and the state will intervene to preserve this large entity."
