The Junior World Championships in skiing ended on Sunday with a 15 km mass start for the ladies where the four Swedish girls who took gold in yesterday's relay were present, Märta Rosenberg, Lisa Eriksson, Lisa Ingesson and Moa Hansson.

It was also the latter who would lead the race after the first intermediate time.

But then the Norwegian Margrethe Bergane would pull away in a violent tampo and after six kilometers she led by a full 23 seconds down to Lisa Eriksson who was closest.

Rosenberg was released

But when the next intermediate time came after half the race, Hansson and Lisa Ingesson had lost even more and were closer to 40 seconds behind the Norwegian and they were even further behind at 9.8 kilometers.

There, the Russian Evgeniya Krupitskaya, Lisa Eriksson and Märta Rosenberg were 26 seconds behind Bergane.

But Rosenberg would get tired and had to let go of the top battle and the medal chance shortly afterwards.

Eriksson strongest

With 1.4 kilometers left, it was Lisa Eriksson, the Russian Krupitskaya and the German Helen Hoffman who settled for two medals.

Norwegian Margrethe Bergane won by far, but behind it was Eriksson who was the strongest and took home the silver and Hoffman took the bronze.

- Fantastically good by Eriksson after having pulled so much, says SVT's expert Anders Blomquist.

Märta Rosenberg finished fifth, Moa Hansson finished sixth.
