French Leipzig international defender Dayot Upamecano, 22, has signed a five-year contract with Bayern Munich starting next season, the Bavarian club officially announced on Sunday.
The announcement of this transfer had already been made Friday by Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic in an interview with the daily

, but the club had not made the news official and had not disclosed the duration of the contract.

The amount of the transfer fee was not disclosed, but the press claims the player had a release clause estimated at 43 million euros.
