With a quarter left, AIK's veteran goalkeeper Andreas Bergwall saved a penalty from Oskar Wikblad and 2-1 stood then.

The legend parried the ball down at his left post and also got the return.

- That rescue was probably quite important.

We had heavy legs but kept running and fighting.

We would have this match and got it in the end, says Bergwall to Aftonbladet's webcast.

AIK has had a heavy schedule at the end and tonight's match was the fourth in eight days.

AIK punctured the match in extra time

In extra time, Johan Esplund punctured the match to make it 3-1 after a fine attack with several releases.

Erik Pettersson made sure that Esplund was free in front of Anders Svensson.

- We had a good position to make 2-2 on the penalty and we make a perfectly okay match and with a little better bounce we would have got a point, says Edsbyn's 45-year-old goalkeeper Anders Svensson.

He is one year and one day younger than Bergwall.

- Today I was not even the oldest on the field, haha.

Ola Johansson denies schism

Edsbyn experienced media turbulence during the afternoon where information emerged that the icon Ola Johansson had left his leadership role after a schism.

In the afternoon, the club made a "clarification" on its website.

Västerås-based Johansson wrote a post and explained that he had been in Edsbyn more than usual to guide the club past the tough situation that arose when Robin Öhrlund unexpectedly left the club.

"Now that it's time to prepare for the playoffs, I choose to retire again," writes Johansson, who denies disagreements.
