His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum had earlier ordered changing the work site, during the implementation of the tunnel project, to another side of the site, due to the presence of nests for the houbara bustard, as His Highness inspected the progress of work in the project, as he directed then to change the location of the tunnel , To ensure that the nests are not compromised.

The Houbara Tunnel is located along the Al Qudra cycling path, which is 135 km long, and is one of the most important cycling tracks in the Emirate of Dubai. Dubai at various speeds.

It should be noted that the total length of cycling lanes implemented by the end of 2020 has reached 425 km, while the RTA plans to increase the length of cycling lanes to 668 km by 2025.
