Every day, Anicet Mbida makes us discover an innovation that could well change the way we consume.
This Tuesday, he is interested in the idea of the startup Leef to create a box to transform a cell phone into a PC.
The innovation of the day may foreshadow the personal computer of tomorrow.
This is a box that turns your mobile phone into a laptop PC.
Some of our phones today are more powerful than computers.
The only thing they lack is the convenience of a large screen, keyboard, and touchpad to control the mouse.
The startup Leef therefore had the idea of creating a laptop computer, totally powered by a telephone.
That is, there is only one shell with the keyboard, the screen and a battery.
But no memory, microprocessor or software since it is those of the telephone that will control everything.
In fact, it's like plugging your phone into a keyboard and external display, built into the shell of a laptop.
What is the point ?
Phone apps are not suitable for mouse and big screen.
Yes, most of the latest Android phones have a special, hidden mode that turns mobile apps into desktop apps, which can be controlled with the keyboard and mouse.
We therefore find a "start" menu, a file manager, Outlook, Word, the Chrome browser ... All this, in windows that can be moved as desired.
It is even possible to "drag and drop" like on desktops.
With a huge advantage: there is nothing to configure, synchronize or transfer since it is your phone that controls everything.
It's expensive ?
Not exactly.
As there is no microprocessor or memory, this makes it possible to have a laptop for less than 300 euros.
We use a lot of similar applications between our phone and our computer.
So why not have just one device, but two different boxes?
