Despite the preparations, hopes are relatively high for the World Cup.

- The qualifier should go well and when I get to the start of Saturday's final I will run for a medal.

But considering my background, it would not be the whole world if I came tenth, says Näslund.

The start of this season has been a nightmare for Sandra Näslund.

In connection with one of the last training sessions before the World Cup premiere, she fell and shook herself severely in the right knee.

Since then, her skiing life has been characterized by a difficult rehab training, which developed into a battle against the clock to be able to participate in the World Cup in Idre.

Illogical rehab

- It would have been too damn not to be able to participate when the World Cup is decided at home.

This is the only time you have the chance to experience it, says Sandra Näslund and tells about the tough rehab training:

-It has not felt good to naturally work through the pain to get better.

Some things have hurt, when you thought it would go well, while other things have been the opposite.

It started to hurt but went better.

The whole rehab training has been difficult to interpret and illogical.

On Saturday, Sandra Näslund made the decision that she would compete in the WC.

But it was only on Monday that she rode a track for the first time after the injury.

- I had no idea how it would feel.

It was nervous and tough with a lot of emotions, because I had not ridden a skicross track in two and a half months.

And to then directly go into the biggest track we have ... You did not know how it would feel in the knee.

Mixed feelings

Sandra Näslund managed Monday's two planned rides well and Tuesday's duel in the track against national team mate Alexandra Edebo.

- I may not have had the best feeling during the training, but it works, the knee holds and I dare to push more and more.

But she has mixed feelings ahead of Wednesday's qualifier.

- It feels hard not to be able to be on top when the World Cup goes at home, at the same time as a few weeks ago I did not believe in any skiing this season.

But now it's first qualifier and I should get through it.
