On Monday morning, one of the world's best swimmers, Sarah Sjöström, will undergo surgery for a fracture in her elbow that she suffered in a slip accident.

After that, rehab awaits while there is barely six months left until the Olympics in Tokyo.

But national team captain Ulrika Sandmark has faith in the star.

- She's gathered, she's Sarah.

We will see what happens tomorrow and we will have to take it from there, says national team captain Ulrika Sandmark.

During a press conference, she was asked if Sjöström had talked about the Olympics after the accident.

- No, I was just happy to hear that she was in good spirits.

We around are prepared, she says.

The national team doctor also says that Sjöström has handled the situation well, although at the moment it is difficult to say when she may be back.

- She will be allowed to go through her operation in peace and quiet.

It is a healing process that is required on a fracture and it unfortunately takes some time, he says.
