Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille will face each other on Sunday for the hundredth time in their history in official competition.

Marseille supporters want to believe that, despite the crisis that their club is going through, OM will manage to beat PSG, as in September 2020. But the task will be (very) difficult.

Against Paris, can OM win?

The context of this "Classic" is, on the Marseille side, totally hot.

The players who will appear at the Vélodrome on Sunday were in any case shaken by eight days of a spectacular crisis, even by the high standards of the Olympian club.

Last Saturday, disappointed by the results of Olympique de Marseille as well as by the management of the club's management team, hundreds of angry supporters demonstrated in front of the Commanderie training center.

Clashes took place and individuals tried to break into the center.

Rumor of sale, layoff of AVB, defeats in series: OM is going through a bad patch

In the middle of the week, coach André Villas Boas announced at a press conference that he was proposing his resignation from management.

The latter ... laid him off.

The Portuguese coach, who passed on the benches of Chelsea and Tottenham, will therefore not be on the edge of the lawn this Sunday evening, at the Stade Vélodrome.

And then finally, a rumor of redemption of the club added to the storm.

But despite a historic crisis, within the Commandery, some supporters wanted to show their support for the players.

"It's going to be hot, but I believe it"

But they are also realistic.

"There is a lot of tension and given the atmosphere in which the players approach the game, I'm afraid it will be a complicated game and that we will lose on a river score. I think we risk taking a slap, ”says Thierry.

After a week of all the dangers, yes, the slope is soapy, according to Quentin, and it is first of all in morale that everything will be played out… "The players are going to war", he said.

"The Parisians are vengeful. It will be hot. But I believe in it. Despite everything, I believe in it. If we do not believe it, we will end up in Ligue 2."

"The motivation will be quite natural"

Because one is not a true supporter without an unfailing optimism.

"Here in Marseille, we say 'we fear death'", slips one of them, recalling that OM have already managed to surprise the Parisians several times since the capital club was bought in 2011. In all At the start of the season, the Marseille outsider won 1-0 at the Parc des Princes.

Before kick-off at the Stade Vélodrome, Nasser Larguet, makeshift interim coach who replaces André Villas-Boas at short notice, explains that the players will not need to be motivated.

"There will not be a lot of speeches at the talk. The motivation will be quite natural: it is one of their games of the season" he said at the microphone of Europe 1.

And one of the matches that will go down in the history of OM / PSG confrontations: this is the hundredth time that Marseille and Parisians will face each other on the field.

A historic "Classic" which, on the Olympian side, can turn into a pleasant surprise as much as a nightmare.
