The goal ball tournament, a ball game in which visually impaired athletes throw balls to compete for points, has begun in Chiba City at the Tokyo Paralympics.

Due to the influence of the new coronavirus, this was an unusual tournament in which overseas teams did not participate and no spectators could enter, and the representative players of the Tokyo Paralympics confirmed the feeling of actual battle in the first match in about a year.

Goalball is a competition in which three people in one team alternately roll the ball and compete for points by relying on the sound of the ball with bells. Japanese girls won the gold medal at the London Paralympics, and both men and women in the Tokyo tournament are host countries Participation has been decided at.

The "Japan Para Tournament," which began on the 6th to the 2nd, was held in an unusual way, with the influence of the new Corona, which prevented the overseas powerhouses that were invited every year from participating and the audience could not enter.

On the first day, the Japanese men's and women's national teams were divided into two teams to play against each other, and the female players were the first in about a year.

Since it was a match between players who knew each other's hands, it was difficult for both teams to score goals, and the match could not be settled even if it was extended.

After that, Masae Komiya of Team B took the opposite of the opponent and scored a goal with an extra throw that throws the ball one-on-one, and won the close battle.

Rie Urata, who was the captain of Team B, said, "I haven't had a real fight for about a year, and it was valuable to have held the tournament, so I was able to fight with gratitude."

It is possible that the women's representative from Japan will be reviewed as a representative of the Tokyo Paralympics, which has already been decided based on the results of this tournament.
