The rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products of the European Union (RAPEX)

has communicated to the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) a failure related to the adjustment of the wheel bolts of part of the range of Opel vehicles manufactured between on July 23, 2019, and November 10, 2020. As noted,

the screws were not tightened tightly enough and may loosen.

The problem detected by the manufacturer could affect

some 30,000 cars marketed in Spain, specifically Astra, Combo, Corsa, Crossland, Grandland, Insignia, Vivaro and Zafira models.

The failure can have serious consequences on safety, as there is a real risk of losing a wheel, which could cause an accident.

As RAPEX has pointed out,

the manufacturer has already initiated measures to contact the owners of the affected vehicles

to proceed with the necessary adjustment to the vehicle's wheels, completely free of charge.

In any case, the owners of these cars can contact customer service to find out if their vehicle is among those affected.

Although he recommends to those who may be affected that they check already, on their own, that the screws are well tightened.
