The American businessman Frank McCourt, owner of Olympique de Marseille, again denied on Friday the rumors of an upcoming sale of the club and assured that his commitment to OM remained "total".

"My commitment to OM is total"

“My commitment to OM, its employees, the city and all Marseillais is total.

I will remain, with all of the management of OM and its president, Jacques-Henri Eyraud, invested in carrying this project to the end, ”assured Frank McCourt in a press release sent to AFP.

“We owe it to OM and its history, past, present and future.

I also wonder about the origin of these repeated campaigns of disinformation and wonder who benefits from these manipulations, ”added the businessman.

"It's rubbish, it's amazing"

This Friday, new rumors of an upcoming sale of OM to Saudi investors resurfaced.

They have been qualified as "false and deleterious" by Mr. McCourt and his entourage.

They were also denied to AFP by a source within the club, who spoke of "totally bogus rumors".

"It's rubbish, it's mind-blowing," added the same source.

OM is going through a period of crisis, with the departure on Tuesday of coach André Villas-Boas, who resigned and then laid off by the club.

President Jacques-Henri Eyraud is highly contested by supporters and the training center was the scene of serious incidents last Saturday.

Only 9th in the championship, but with two games late, OM faces Paris SG on Sunday at home for the “Classic” of the French championship.
