Jonas Jerebko had played in Russian Khimki since August 2019 when he broke with the club in January this year.

He has since told of non-payment of wages and the family as reasons for the break-up.

But Jerebko and the Russian club have completely different versions of what has happened.

"Coach does not want you back"

This is how the Swedish star's sounds:

- I had not seen my family since I went to Russia in mid-August and I had hoped that they would go with me.

I have always asked the club when they can get a visa, but they have always said "in two weeks".

In the end, four or five months had passed and I still had not seen his family, says Jerebko and continues:

- I was allowed by our general manager to take time off over the New Year.

He said 'go home over New Year's and come back on the fourth of January'.

Then I did so and was ready to fly to Lithuania for a match against Zalgiris that we had the fifth.

I was packing my bags and was going to leave on the fourth morning when my agent called and said "coach does not want you back".

Then I thought "well, then I will stay home then and be with my family".

I'm having a son in April.

For my part, it was a fairly simple choice.

Believes that Yerebko was not allowed to go home

In an email to SVT Sport, Khimki's general manager Pavel Astakhov gives his version:

On December 30, Jonas Jerebko, without any approval from the coach or management, left our club and Russia.

The club did not allow him to do so.

The player not only left the club without permission, but did not return to the first four matches in January.

The player was fined for missing official matches and training sessions for no reason and his contract was broken. "

According to the club, Jerebko did not talk to anyone in the club during all this time.

The Swede, for his part, believes that the club's version is not correct.

- They are lying.

The truth will come out.

I had bought a plane ticket and taken coronatest according to the instructions from the club.

Has not received a salary

Khimki admits that they have not paid all the salary to which Jerebko has been entitled.

- We currently have problems with finances, but we are solving the problem, says a club representative.

Jerebko believes that Khimki owes more players money.

- It's not just me they owe money.

The whole thing is now with the lawyers and agents.

It's way too much money to just shit in, says the Swedish national team player.
