Ebba Årsjö makes her second season in the World Cup where the big goal - and it goes well to say the least.

After several wins in slalom and giant slalom, she took the first victory of her career in super-G on Thursday when she won in Talbach in Austria.

- It went very well but not as planned, I was prepared that it would go pretty bad actually.

So I am very happy, says Ebba Årsjö to SVT Sport.

Why did you have that feeling?

- I had with me from the downhill race a few days ago that it is tough and with my leg it is difficult to cope with this long course.

I was also nervous that my plan would not work.

But instead I got a receipt that it worked.

"Weighs heavier"

Årsjö was the first starter and she set the standard directly in the competition where no one could challenge her.

- It was felt in the legs and things happen from start to finish.

But I would say that the ride I had planned before would be very hard all the way but when I rode smart from the beginning I could take in a little more at the end and have speed with me.

A victory that meant a lot to Årsjö, who switched to parasport in 2019.

- It weighs heavier than winning in slalom or giant slalom.

I'm struggling faster with my leg.

"Be smart today"

The national team captain Henrik Bergqvist was also satisfied.

- Ebba was smart today on an extremely long hill, significantly longer than we have access to drive in Sweden.

It is important to be smart and distribute the forces from start to finish, which she did, he says.
