The results have not been for Johnsrud Sundby who only has his free space of 15 km free because he won the distance in Seefeld two years ago, then in classic.
It is above all the back that has haunted the 36-year-old who makes his own bet towards the championship.
15 km free will be decided on Wednesday 3 March and two days later the relay over 4x10 km will be decided.
But already now it is clear that Sundby can not run into the team.
Does that mean he is not relevant for the relay team even if he wins gold in the 15 km?
- He will not be allowed to drive.
We have selected a squad based on the results achieved, says national team coach Eirik Myhr Nossum to NRK.
A reserve at home
Eleven skiers have already been selected.
The Norwegian team keeps a place open for a reserve at home, which thus goes before Sundby.
- We think it is wise if there is an infection in the squad, although of course we hope that it will not be so, says Nossum.
A couple of weeks ago, Sundby finished 14th in the skiathlon over 30 km in the Norwegian championships and realized that he would not get a World Cup place.
- It's just scrapping all the plans I had.
I have to make a new plan until the beginning of the championship and maybe I have to start already tonight, Sundby said then with the focus on the WC 15 km.
