Latvia became the sole host of the 2021 Ice Hockey World Cup

This was reported by the press service of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).

Initially, the World Cup was supposed to be held in Riga and Minsk from May 21 to June 6, but holding matches in Belarus turned out to be impossible due to the political situation in the country.

The main venue for the competition will be Arena Riga.

The second stadium will be the Olympic Sports Center, which will be converted into an ice rink for 6,000 seats.

It will host Group A matches and two quarterfinals.

Earlier, the head of the IIHF said that it is too early to talk about the exact location of the World Ice Hockey Championship.
