Earlier in the day, Thorgren finished seventh in slopestyle and he then said that he was really disappointed, but looked forward to the big air competition.

"The jump is sick fat, really big, just the way I like it," he said in a press release ahead of the competition.

The points 44, 48, 20, 24 and 47 were enough for 95 total points and a second place for the Swede, as only the two best rides are counted.

Norwegian Marcus Kleveland impressed when he got 48 points on both of his best runs and won the competition with 96 points.

Countryman Mons Røisland won the bronze with 93 points.

Corrected: In an earlier version of the text, the wrong score and wrong podium place for Thorgren were stated.
