Seibu, who is aiming to win the Pacific League for the first time in two years in professional baseball, started a spring camp in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture, and catcher Tomoya Mori, who suffered from sluggishness last year, practiced vigorously from the first day. ..

Seibu's 1st Army-based camp began on the 1st in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture, after taking measures against the new coronavirus, such as keeping spectators out of the stadium.

After exercising with preparatory exercises and catch balls, the players practiced separately as pitchers and fielders.

Mori, a catcher in his eighth year as a professional, won the title of the top batter and became the MVP = Most Valuable Player, but last year he suffered from a slump and his batting average was sluggish in the mid 20% range.

During the voluntary training, Mori worked on correcting the batting form, so he hit a ball with a sharp hit while checking the feeling for one day.

In the bullpen, he moved energetically from the first day, holding down the team and actively exchanging words in response to the ball thrown by pitcher Tatsushi Masuda.

Mori recalled the first day, saying, "I'm tired, but this was my first time practicing wearing a uniform, and I was able to do it with just the right amount of tension. I felt that batting wasn't too bad."

On top of that, he expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "I couldn't make my own swing in pursuit of batting average last season, so I hope I will actively make my own swing and get results in it."
