Two podium places, of which a victory in the first three competitions has meant that Ludvig Fjällström, 27, is currently leading the World Cup.

The victory in Idre in December was Fjällström's first in his career and Sweden's first in almost 23 years.

- It feels good, in a way it was lucky that I took the lead and the win just before the break because I have been able to enjoy them for a long time, says Ludvig Fjällström.

World Cup canceled

The next competition will be in Deer Valleyi USA 4-6 February.

Then the idea was to go across the border to Canada and the World Cup in Calgary which would be run at the end of February but those championships have had to change venues due to the pandemic.

Instead of Calgary, FIS has found another organizer and the World Cup will be run in Almaty Kazakhstan March 8-11.

What do you think about the World Cup considering the shape you have?

- It is an opportunity of course, I have often ridden well at the WC.

Then it will be harder, we have some who come back from injury which is good, Mikaël Kingsbury will come back he was not here in the pre-season and then we will see if Walter Wallberg comes back and competes so maybe a little tougher resistance than it was before, says Ludvig Fjällström.
