Al-Jazira club announced yesterday that it has consensually canceled the contract of its international player, Omar Abdel Rahman, before one and a half season after the official termination of the contract that extends until the summer of 2022.

A source close to "Amouri" revealed, in his response to the fact that the player is close to returning to Al-Ain club, that "he has not entered (Amouri) currently in any negotiations with any club, and he has 21 days to decide his fate."

The source told Emirates Today that “the termination of the contract with Omar Abdul-Rahman (Amouri) took place by mutual consent between the two parties, and it is not true that the management of Al-Jazira Club decided to dispense with him, because of the injury he suffered during the current season."

Al-Jazira club had signed a contract with Amouri early last season, in a free transfer for three seasons, from Al Hilal Saudi Arabia.

Al-Jazeera's position is a severe blow to the player who was subjected to a similar situation with the Saudi club Al-Hilal, who refused to extend Amouri's contract after suffering a cut in the cruciate ligament, during the youth match that took place in the seventh round of the Saudi Football League.

And it will be legally the right of Omar Abdel Rahman to play for any other local club, according to the text of Article 38 of the second paragraph A, which gives the player whose club has canceled his contract to play for any other club, within 21 days of closing the winter registration door.

Omar Abdul Rahman scored weak numbers since he left Al Ain club in the summer of 2018, after he refused to extend his contract with the leader during that period, according to what media reports confirmed, because of the player's desire to professionalize in the Saudi League.

After Amouri left Al-Ain, he joined the Saudi club Al-Hilal in the summer of 2018, as the player was only able to appear in five matches in the domestic league there, within minutes of 363 minutes, during which he scored only one goal, and then suffered a severe injury by cutting the cruciate ligament. During the youth match, the player would not, due to that injury, participate in the Asian Nations Championship, which was hosted by the UAE in January 2019.

After returning to the UAE League, Ammouri settled on Al-Jazira club, with whom he signed a free transfer contract that extends for three seasons.

In his first season with Al-Jazira, Ammouri played 19 matches in the Arabian Gulf League, with a total of 1359 minutes, as he participated in 14 basic matches, and entered as a substitute in five matches, scoring only three goals.

And this season, Ammouri has only played two games, with an average of 117 minutes without scoring any goals.

And the player suffered a severe injury in the second round of the league against Al Dhafra, in the match that ended in a goalless draw.

After that, Al-Jazira club revealed, in an official statement, that the results of the medical examinations conducted for the player after he fell and left the stadium in the Al Dhafra match, confirmed the integrity of the knee ligaments and cartilage, with a slight swelling in the knee.

For his part, the former head of the Players' Status and Transfer Committee, Dr. Salim Al Shamsi, confirmed that Amouri's season, after his departure from Al Jazeera, is not over yet, as the player has the right to contract with any other club within 21 days, starting today, after submitting a petition. The Status and Transfer of Players Committee to allow him to move to another club, which has a vacant place, without the substitution process being carried out.

Al Shamsi told Emirates Today: “The termination of Al Jazeera’s contract with Amouri was not a surprise to me. The club, in my opinion, corrected a situation that needed to intervene at this time, given that the player did not provide Al Jazeera with the levels that were expected of him.”

He added: “I advise Amouri to postpone the transfer project to any other club for the beginning of the next season, to give himself the time and opportunity for treatment and rehabilitation as required, because the time remaining for the current season will not help him present himself in the expected manner, and inevitably he will be psychologically affected by the possibility that he will be injured again.”
