Amateur football players were deprived of their training because of the curfew.

As the 5th and 6th rounds of the Coupe de France begin, Europe 1 went to meet the players from Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois, who have just obtained a waiver to be able to train before their match against in Créteil.

REPORTAGE

The Coupe de France is back this weekend with the 5th and 6th rounds, organized with delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Due to the impossibility for amateurs to train due to the curfew, meetings will not be without difficulty.

This is particularly the case for players from the Saint-Geneviève-des-Bois club, a 4th division club located in the Paris region, which has only just obtained authorization to train.

Europe 1 went to their last training, in the middle of the afternoon, while they face the club of Créteil (National, one division above) on Saturday afternoon for the 5th round.

Little hope for the coach

On the edge of the field, the coach harangues his players, but the concern is easily read on the face of Emmanuel Dorado.

His players are not in leg.

For good reason, amateur footballers have just been authorized to resume training after long weeks of hiatus.

A dispensation obtained in order to be able to compete in the Coupe de France.

However, with a team out of form, Emmanuel Dorado does not expect much from the match that awaits them.

"It would be the last straw that we could beat Créteil, having done six training sessions, being stopped for three months while they are in the middle of the championship and that it is a team which plays the rise in Ligue 2", he laments at the microphone of Europe 1.

Many constraints

Because of the confinement, reduced to 6 p.m. across the entire territory for two weeks, training takes place in the middle of the afternoon.

Some players, taken by their work, therefore arrive late.

But despite these constraints, Captain Quentin Barcelo, animator in a leisure center, appreciates being able to find the ground.

"It feels good to be able to replay a bit, it's more realistic," he said.

In a Coupe de France match, all exploits are possible.

This is why after having hesitated for a long time to withdraw because of the risk of injury, the leaders of the club of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois finally gave the green light to play this meeting.
