An external report by the International Biathlon Federation accuses the former chairman Anders Besseberg of illegally receiving millions of kronor during his time at the post.

The report says that Besseberg has had no interest in protecting the sport from cheating.

According to the report, the Norwegian has also most likely been bribed by Russian leaders through, among other things, hunting trips, luxury watches and prostitutes.

He is said to have defended Russian interests and obscured doping.

SVT Sports expert Björn Ferry is critical.

- It has been a fairly long story, it has been going on for a few years.

It has been a long investigation.

It's an ongoing investigation, he's not convicted of anything yet.

It is expected that something like this would happen, at the same time it is sad, says Ferry.

- Since there will be bribes.

Not many World Cups or Olympics through the ages have been awarded to a country without bribes, it is more the rule than the exception.

But it's sad that it has to be that way.

"It's awful"

- There has been a lot about the Russian doping scandal, it is not over yet.

Now it's more history, a lot of work has been done within the IBU's organization.

Now it's probably significantly better.

But the fight against doping is an eternal battle.

And it is clear that it is frustrating when the top leadership of the International Federation has obscured this cheating, it is terrible.
