Armand Duplantis makes his competition debut this weekend in Düsseldorf, Germany.

In connection with him doing a covid test before the trip, he happened to lose his passport in town.

According to the club Uppsala IF Friidrott, some stressful hours awaited Duplantis and his coach and mother Helena, but thanks to Uppsala resident Lars Våghals, everything was resolved.

Lars found the passport and when he quickly understood who it belonged to, he contacted the club.

- It was a pure coincidence that I found the passport.

Had it not snowed, I probably would not have seen it.

I went and looked down to avoid getting snow on my face, says Lars Våghals to Aftonbladet.

After a short while, Helena Duplantis called.

- "Are you the hero of the day?"

she said.

She sounded very relieved.

I had saved his weekend, says Lars.

When Armand Duplantis came to get his passport back, Lars received a signed competition suit as a thank you.

The Athletics Gala in Düsseldorf with Duplanti's season premiere will be broadcast 12.15-14.30 on SVT2 / SVT Play on Sunday.
