On Wednesday, the Egyptian Football Association submitted a formal request to the African Confederation (CAF) to host the 2021 African Champions League final.

The federation also announced, on its official website, its application to host the African Nations Cup for Youth U-20, to be held in 2023 and qualifying for the World Youth Cup in Indonesia in the same year.

"The Egyptian Football Association has submitted a request to nominate the Confederation of African Football to host the 2021 African Champions League final, and it has also submitted a request for a nomination to host the African Nations Cup for Youth U-20, to be held in 2023 and qualifying for the World Youth Cup to be held in Indonesia in the year," the association's statement said. The same, and it is expected that the Egyptian national team, born in 2003, will represent Egypt.

He continued, "It is decided that the Egyptian Federation will complete the rest of the conditions for nomination, foremost of which are government approvals in the event that CAF approves the candidacy application."

Egypt hosted the final of the African Champions League in the last version at Cairo International Stadium between Al-Ahly and Zamalek.

Al-Ahly won the championship, boosting its record to nine titles.

The group stage starts next February, and Egypt will be represented in the Al-Ahly and Zamalek competition.
