It was a year ago.

A helicopter with nine people on board crashed into the cliffs of Calabasas, west of Los Angeles.

Lakers star Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi, and seven other passengers were killed instantly.

For the anniversary of the tragedy, tributes multiply.

Kobe and Gigi

She was not 14 but dreamed of conquering the WNBA titles.

The Overtime site pays homage to Gianna Bryant by alternating the images on the floors of the father and the daughter, with similar gestures and absolute complicity.

One year without Kobe and Gigi doesn't feel real.

Crazy workout at 17

The

LA Times

has unearthed a video filmed by an assistant to the Clippers four days before the 1996 draft. It shows Bryant, 17, performing an incredible "Mikan drill", which consists of stringing together the right hand lay-ups, left hand, without the ball touching the ground.

An exercise that uses the young basketball player to end with a dunk.

Twenty-five years later, these images are a reminder that Kobe was not so much an extraordinary athlete as a workaholic.

Former Clippers assistant Rex Kalamian handled many video duties with the team in 1996 when Kobe Bryant worked out before the NBA draft.

Here's exclusive footage.

Kobe by Kobe

He professed his love of the ball in the animated short

Dear basketball

.

And found a talent for storytelling.

In this video compiled by the NBA, Kobe Bryant gives himself over the years with lucidity.

To become a champion, talent is not enough: “You have to appreciate the process, those boring moments of agony.

If you like it then you have found your way.

Bryant told by his peers

ESPN reporter Rachel Nichols posed the same question to LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony and many others: “What did it feel like stepping on the floor for the first time against Kobe Bryant?

"Of" admiration "," respect "and the desire to" match ".

What was it like to step onto the court against Kobe for very the first time?

I spent weeks asking dozens of NBA players that question and wow, the stories that came out from Steph, LeBron, KD, Melo, John Wall, Kyrie, James Harden, Kyle Lowry, Draymond, Paul George & so many more pic.twitter. com / iUMQVfhnDI
