The AFC decides to cancel 4 continental tournaments due to Corona

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has decided to cancel 4 continental tournaments that were scheduled to be held during 2020 and the current year 2021, according to the AFC on its official website today, Monday.



The AFC stated in a press statement that: "After taking into account the current situation of the emerging corona virus pandemic, canceling a number of tournaments in order to protect the interests of all parties to the game."



He added: “Following the FIFA decision to cancel the FIFA U-17 World Cup and the U-20 World Cup, and after taking into account the health and safety of young players in the Asian continent, the AFC decided to cancel the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 in Bahrain, and the AFC U-19 Championship 2020 in Uzbekistan.



He continued, "The next edition of the two championships will be held in the same host countries, as Uzbekistan will host the AFC U-20 Cup, while Bahrain will host the AFC U-17 Cup."
