Liverpool took another damper on Sunday by being eliminated in the fourth round of the FA Cup, but manager Jürgen Klopp does not want to despair.

The German also sees leads after the defeat at Manchester United (3-2).

"Of course this result is frustrating. We were not at the top of our game, but we are taking a lot of steps in the right direction," Klopp said after the loss at Old Trafford.

"Don't worry about us."

Due to the elimination in the FA Cup, Liverpool continued the bad period.

After the 0-7 victory at Crystal Palace on December 19, 'The Reds' only won the FA Cup match against a youth team of Aston Villa (1-4), the other six matches were lost or drawn.

It remained exciting against United for a long time, but Bruno Fernandes - who came on the field in the 68th minute for basic player Donny van de Beek - scored the 3-2 in the 78th minute.

"You saw that my team really did everything to turn it around and score goals. That's a good sign," Klopp remained positive.

'There is no lack of confidence'

Still, Liverpool will have to get up quickly to keep a serious shot at the league title.

The reigning champion, who at the end of last season had 33 points more than Manchester United, is now six points behind the same United.

In the midweek round of the Premier League, Liverpool awaits the important away game against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday, which has played a point less and a game less.

In the event of a defeat, 'The Reds' seem to be temporarily out of the title race.

"This game against United was a good preparation for us for the game against Tottenham", said Klopp.

"We want to get out of this situation as quickly as possible and know exactly what to work on. There is no lack of trust, we will work this out together.
