"I'm so busy that I can't even get an offer on a blind date...I like people who eat well and have fun"

"No matter how

busy

appearing on entertainment programs, my job is golf...it's rewarding to tell more people about golf"

"The most important thing at the Tokyo Olympics is health and safety... "

A pioneer in Korean women's golf" Se-ri Park, the coach of the women's golf team at the Tokyo Olympics, is recently referred to as'blue chip of entertainment' and'insa of entertainment'.

Broadcasting requests from various media, including terrestrial, are inundated, and there are only five broadcast programs that are currently appearing, and we are having a much busier day than when we were players, with the promotion of golf prospects, business meetings and media interviews.

It wasn't easy to schedule an interview appointment with her because I plan and move every 30 minutes a day.

I visited her Gangnam office on a snowy day.

Director Park, who had been interviewing with other media for more than an hour earlier, immediately corrected his posture without taking a break to breathe, and while responding to the next interview, he continued his story with an energetic and smiling face all the time without any signs of exhaustion.

Director Park Se-ri wants to spread the sport of golf to more people through entertainment broadcasting.

We share her'honesty talk', saying that she wants to meet her boyfriend who'knows how to eat well and drink a little' because she likes alcohol, as well as her vision for fostering golf prospects.

Q. You must be very busy from broadcasting appearances, press interviews, and business meetings these days. Are you tired?

“Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Fri… I work 7 days a week. (Laughs) I filmed from early in the morning to late at night because of the fixed program recording on 4-5 days a week, and on days without recording media interviews and meetings with business people. Then, a week, a month… time goes well, my body is busy, my mind is joyful and happy, it's fun to get to know the world one by one that I didn't encounter when I was a player, and there was a lot of fun I got from meeting new people while doing new work. "

Q. What has changed while appearing in entertainment programs?

“When I was a golf player, if my fans had a lot of ages like mothers or seniors, now there are quite a lot of younger fans. A little more people recognized them and they were happy to see them. Teenagers to 20s, even children in their teens and 20s. The people who recognize me right now are not Se-ri Pak, a'golf player', but Se-ri Pak, who appears on variety shows. Still, just telling them that I was a golf player and what kind of sport is golf I think makes sense.”

Q. The modifiers'Golf Empress' and'Golf Queen' have been changed to'Rich sister' and'Sen sister' these days, but are you ever uncomfortable being talked about as an image of an entertainment program like this?

"Is it because I'm a little conservative? It's because I was a person who worked out, or if I talked about entertainment too much, it was a little uncomfortable. I have a main job called golf, but you shouldn't forget about it. I have the intention of promoting'golf' as a more friendly and fun sport. I can play fun games with other actors naturally through golf."

Q. When I appeared in'The Law of the Jungle' in the past, everyone was surprised to hit a ball hit with a stick made by breaking a tree branch, but have you ever hit the ball with something other than a golf club?

"Of course not. How would you have thought of hitting the ball with a tree? Actually, I was surprised when I recorded the broadcast at that time. I didn't know it would be true. It was made by the chief Kim Byeong-man at the shooting site with wild trees, not golf clubs. I couldn’t practice much because I was afraid it would break. Before I tried, I hit it twice to see if the ball really flew, and then I went right into the mission. At that time, I said that it’s impossible, it makes no sense, how do I get it? You were right. I was also very curious. When you really immerse yourself, you can do it. (Laughs) I think athletes can get instant immersion like this."

Q. While appearing in'The Butler', you went to the golf course with the performers and hit the iron shot right on the flagpole, making the scene a crucible of enthusiasm.

Do you still practice golf these days?

"No, I hardly caught a stick since I retired. How long did I get a golf club back then... I was just embarrassed because I was just shooting, so I went out without practice. I was worried about what to do if I was embarrassed, but fortunately the driver tee shot went straight. And I had about 70 yards left to the hole, but when I hit the wedge shot, did you see my expression?I felt good, but the moment I hit the pin, it was so strange that I hit the pin that I didn't get right when I was a player.... I was surprised too. It seems that something strangely happens when I turn around."

Q. No matter how busy you are in broadcasting, you say'your main job is golf', and in the end, is it'ki-win-jeon-golf'?

“The biggest part of the purpose of establishing a company called'Baz International' is the education business to discover golf prospects and develop them into world-class players. My biggest dream is to create an academy school that combines sports and education. On days when there is no absence, I share and discuss a lot of ideas with the people in charge, and I want to clarify implementation plans, and I want to open more paths for my juniors in relation to the golf business. It's also meaningful to show that I can work. Those thoughts are always full of my mind while recording a broadcast."

Q. Baz International also has a wine business?

"Since I was a player, I loved wine so much. At first, I was at the level of discriminating between taste and not, but the more I know wine, the more the world is endless and attractive. Drinking while listening to the story of wine from an expert is really more delicious. The fun of getting to know wine was so great that a business opportunity came and started. Until now, we had a contract with a company that imports Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese wines and launched'SERI WINE' on the market. I am pursuing a contract with. If I get a professional perspective, I want to make the best luxury wine in Korea with my name."

Q. On the broadcast, you said that you like alcohol evenly in addition to wine.

"(Nod nod) I'm literally'a drinker'. I like to eat delicious food, so I often serve one or two to match the food. I don't drink much, but after eating together I gained weight. (Laughs) So I'm on a diet lately. It's been two weeks since I started?I still think I'm losing swelling before my weight. I have to lose weight now. (Laughs)"

Q. If the Tokyo Olympics, which were postponed for one year due to Corona 19, will be held this year, is your goal for two consecutive gold medals?

“When Inbi Park won the gold medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, the joy and emotion that I felt as a manager was really indescribable. But that wasn't the end. I took over as the Tokyo Olympics coach and played twice in a row. I think the manager's role is a helper who takes care of the lodging, food, and movement without putting the maximum burden on the players. The health and safety of the players are the top priority at this Tokyo Olympics. If you look at it, Korea is by far the number 1. At present, the top 3 are Korean players, from No. 1 in the world ranking Ko Jin-young to No. 2 Kim Se-young to No. 3 Park In-bi, and there are 7 Korean players even within the 15th place in the world. As you can see, Korea is the only country where 4 players can compete in. The US also has only 3 players in the 15th place, so it can only compete up to 3. Until the end of June, when qualifications are decided, our players can maintain their skills. I don’t think I can disappoint the people just by doing this.. The problem is Corona. I am anxious and uneasy. The players on the LPGA Tour in the US will continue to go to the tournament and move on the plane to accumulate ranking points. It's true that if you get infected, you're worried and confused."

At the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, where golf returned to the official Olympic sport in 116 years, Park In-bi won the gold medal in the women's division, and built the world's first golden career grand slam (Olympic gold medal + 4 major championships). Two people participated, and both of them drank the best of the cut.

However, since then, the skills of young players such as Lim Sung-jae and Kim Si-woo have risen to the world-class level, and expectations and prospects are emerging that in Tokyo, even men and women golf medals are worth targeting.

Kim Si-woo (26 years old), who won two victories in the US PGA career, was recognized as the youngest player in the Players Championship in 2017, and Seong-jae Lim (23 years old) also won the Honda Classic last year and has the highest authority. He showed the presence of'World Class' as runner-up in the Majors Tournament.

If the Olympics are held this year, they will be nominated for medals at all.

"There is plenty of possibility for men and women to win medals together. If men and women win medals together at the Olympics, there would be no better thing to publicize the status of Korean golf to the world than that. I don't think it's a false story at all."

Just as Seri Park, who was barefoot, gave emotion and hope to the people suffering from the financial crisis in 1998 with the victory of the US Open Fighting Spirit, 23 years later, this time, will he be able to give new joy and joy to the people suffering from Corona 19? , First, on the premise of the normal holding of the Tokyo Olympics, Director Se-ri Park spoke of hope.

“As the bright light looks more intense after passing through the dark tunnel, it is the most important to have more positive thoughts in difficult times. Once our athletes defend the corona well and stand on the Olympic stage, the result will be the people Wouldn't it be better to get good grades as you wish

?

"People get a lot of misunderstandings. Se-ri Park said, "Isn't she an unmarried or single-minded person? It's absolutely not. I don't think I had a lot of opportunities to meet her boyfriend. If work is an excuse, it could be an excuse, but I'm so busy living alone like this is my life. At the end of last year, I had a chance to meet with a few blind date proposals, but I couldn't meet them in the end. "

Q. What style do you like?

"Once the other person dashes first, I'm very attracted. I like people who are like friends and fun people. I like people who naturally lead the mood when we meet many people. People who are sitting in front of us and quiet without a word are uncomfortable. And important Because I like to eat, it's okay if you eat well together and have good manners for drinking. Oh, there's no man who talks like this, (laughs) What's the problem?"

Q. Is it because of the image of'Sen Sister'?

"I'm counting? Absolutely not. People get a lot of misunderstandings, but I know that she's a very soft woman. And it's simple. We just need to eat well together and make the atmosphere pleasant. Is that so difficult?"

After the interview, I stood up, but Director Park ended up saying goodbye as well.

“If the corona stage is alleviated later, you should have a glass of soju. Oh, you should have delicious food…. Thank you. Bye bye~~”
