- I am so grateful to have the chance to come back to Indianapolis, says De Silvestro.

The 32-year-old, who is a factory driver for Porsche on a daily basis, is making his sixth start in the competition and driving for the newly started Paretta Motorsports with Beth Paretta as stable manager.

Paretta has long worked hard for women to have a chance to establish themselves in the male-dominated motorsport.

- Indy500 is the biggest race in motorsport and we hope one day that a female driver will take home the victory trophy, says Paretta.

De Silvestro is the eleventh woman to run the race.

She starts with being number 16 and gets good support from her partner Team Penske.

Felix Rosenqvist and Marcus Ericsson are ready for another season in Indycar where Indy500 is included as the main number in the calendar.

Kenny Bräck won as the only Swedish competition in 1999.
