Elias Pettersson has had a tough start to the NHL season.

A score of four matches is not what most fans and experts had expected.

And perhaps the low-scoring introduction has left its mark.

In tonight's match against Calgary, Pettersson lost his temper in a close fight with Sean Mohanan and slashed the Canadian straight across the chest.

Tilltyget gave two minutes of suspension but today came another penalty from the NHL.

Pettersson is forced to pay the maximum amount - just over SEK 33,000 - after the NHL's disciplinary committee analyzed the situation.

- I took two stupid expulsions and that is unacceptable. I am disappointed to disappoint the team and let my frustration show. It will not happen again, said Pettersson after the match.
