, a Second Division B club, announced this Monday the hiring of coach
Eder Sarabia
-who was Quique Setién's second coach at Barcelona- to replace
Nacho Castro
.
"Eder Sarabia will be officially presented as first coach of FC Andorra this Tuesday. With a great career as second coach, he arrives in the Principality with the challenge of being his first coach," said the entity.
The Principality club, which is led by Gerard Piqué's Kosmos Holding company, was placed
second in group 3A of Segunda B
, after beating Llagostera 2-0 on Sunday.
The day after this victory, the Andorran club surprised with the dismissal of Nacho Castro, who arrived from Horta to replace
Gabri García
.
And shortly after it was announced that Sarabia, an old acquaintance of Piqué, will take over the bench.
The 40-year-old Basque coach was without a team after the dismissal this summer of
Quique Setién
at the Barça club.
Eder Sarabia was also Setién's second at Betis and UD Las Palmas.
The new coach of FC Andorra, who will be presented this Tuesday morning, is the son of
Manu Sarabia
, the former striker for Logroñés and Athletic Club in the 80s. FC Andorra has declined to make any kind of statement and refers to the press conference this Tuesday at the official presentation of Eder Sarabia as a new coach.
