Back from the cancer disease, Oskar Lindblom scored directly in his season debut in the NHL the other day, when Philadelphia beat Pittsburgh 6-3.

On the night before Saturday, the team met again - and again this time the Swede struck - even though it was a goal he put in an empty net when there were just over two minutes left and Pittsburgh chased a reduction.

Philadelphia managed to make it 3-0 in the first period, before the team's big star Sidney Crosby managed to reduce in the 13th minute, when the Canadian in powerplay chipped in a pass from Jack Guentzel behind Philadelphia goalkeeper Carter Hart's back.

Shortly afterwards, teammate Brandon Tanev steered the puck in after a quick attack by Jared McCann.

But Pittsburgh did not come any closer than that.

A quick passing game in the third period resulted in Travis Konecny's third goal of the match and Philadelphia extended it to 4-2.

Pittsburgh pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. After a short tussle with the defender, Oskar Lindblom finally tucked the ball home.

Lindblom admittedly made an NHL comeback already in this summer's playoffs after finishing the cancer treatment, but then it was only a match.

He was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a type of skeletal cancer, in December 2019.
