Norwegian talent who disappeared: "Has not given up hope of catching up with Svahn"

- I would say that I have as much speed capacity as Svahn.

I've shown it before.

I have not given up hope of regaining Svahn's lead in the long run.

But I need time to come back, says Kristine Stavås Skistad to Norwegian Dagbladet.

She won the JVM sprint in Lahti 2019 before peers Linn Svahn, Frida Karlsson and Helene Marie Fossesholm and was a fall in the semifinals of the senior WC in Seefeld a few months later from breaking through in earnest.

But since then it has been heavy, really heavy.

This is due to overtraining and not having listened to the body's signals and returning too early after illness.

Took ten days of rest

As recently as a month ago, her body gave up again and she had to take a break of ten days to recover.

Now she has the knife to her throat ahead of Saturday's Norwegian sprint championship in Trondheim to be able to compete for a place in the WC in Oberstdorf at the turn of the month February / March.
