Tustentals partyed in the streets around the University of Alabama after the school's pride Crimson Tide defeated Ohio State 52-24 in the national championship.

This is despite the current advice about the pandemic.

Students flocked to bars after the final signal and gathered on a main street called "The Strip".

Many shouted, cheered and pressed against each other without face masks.

The celebration got stuck on traffic cameras around the site.

Before the match, the police had appealed for people to watch and celebrate in their homes.

More than 5,300 people have died in the Alabama pandemic and the state has over 404,000 positive corona falls, according to the Associated Press.
