The withdrawal of a second team from the World Handball Cup in Egypt

The International Handball Federation announced, through its official account on "Twitter", that the US national team had withdrawn from the World Cup tournament hosted by Egypt from Wednesday to January 31.

The International Federation said: "The American Federation withdrew from the World Cup after the emergence of several cases of Corona virus among the team's players, which reached 18 cases," noting that "the Swiss national team will replace it according to the European Nations Cup arrangement."

The International Handball Federation had put five teams in a state of emergency in the event that any team participating in the tournament apologized, namely Switzerland, the Netherlands, Montenegro (Montenegro), Ukraine and Serbia.

It is noteworthy that the Czech team was the first to withdraw from the tournament to be replaced by North Macedonia, before the Swiss national team was named instead of the US.
