The Japan High School Baseball Federation, etc., held the Senbatsu High School Baseball Steering Committee scheduled for March this year and confirmed the policy of preparing for the tournament with the aim of holding it with spectators.

After that, he expressed his intention to take careful measures while assessing the future infection status of the new coronavirus.

On the afternoon of the 13th, Japan High School Baseball Federation and others held an online steering committee for Senbatsu High School Baseball, which is scheduled to open on March 19th.

Among them, we confirmed the policy of taking measures against infection with the new coronavirus and proceeding with preparations for the tournament with the aim of holding the event with spectators.

Specifically, in

order to prevent ▽ queues for seats, all reserved seats are sold in advance, and

▽ Alps seats are sold only to school personnel.

On the other hand, we decided to raise the admission fee because it costs money to prevent infection.

In addition, of the 32 participating schools, the "Jingu Tournament Frame" assigned to the district of the winning school of the Meiji Jingu Tournament was canceled last fall, so overcoming difficult environments will be the criteria for selection. We have decided to increase the "century frame" by one to four.

On that basis, the Japan High School Baseball Federation and others have indicated that they will take careful measures while assessing the future infection situation, based on the fact that an emergency declaration will be issued to Hyogo Prefecture, where the Koshien Stadium is located.

In high school baseball last year, due to the influence of the new coronavirus, the Senbatsu tournament and the summer tournament were canceled one after another for the first time in history.

Yoshimasa Ogura, Executive Director of Japan High School Baseball Federation, said, "The infection situation of the new coronavirus is getting severe, but I have a desire to hold a national convention at Koshien. I have experience of infection control for the past year. So, with the help of everyone, I would like to prepare for the tournament. "

Opening Ceremony Entrance March "Paprika"

The admission march for the opening ceremony of this year's Senbatsu High School Baseball was announced, and it was decided to be Foorin's "Paprika", the same as last year when the tournament was canceled due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

The entrance march for the opening ceremony of Senbatsu High School Baseball Stadium held at Koshien Stadium is selected from songs and hit songs that reflect the social situation every year.

This year, it was decided to be Foorin's "paprika", the same as last year when the tournament was canceled for the first time in history due to the spread of the new coronavirus.

This song was written and composed by singer-songwriter Kenshi Yonezu as "<NHK> 2020 Support Song Project", and the five members of the elementary and junior high school music unit Foorin sing along with a light dance. It is gaining popularity from a wide range of generations.

Regarding the reason for the song selection, the organizer of the tournament said, "I want to convey the message of'revival'to high school baseball fans by adopting the same song as last year."

However, at the opening ceremony of the tournament, in order to prevent infection with the new coronavirus, the entire school will not march in as usual, and the details will be decided by the steering committee in early March.
