25-year-old Martin Ponsiluoma showed good riding capacity last weekend in Oberhof - when he finished sixth in the sprint with two barriers.

Today, the Swede performed in the ride again.

Ponsiluoma was one of the faster out on the track in today's sprint.

And even though he missed two, he became the best Swede with his ninth place.

"Had it tough on the track"

- Two booms is not something I would have wanted.

I had a tough time on the track, says Ponsiluoma to SVT Sport and continues.

- I went a little too hard on the first hill on the first lap but I could still hold it together.

The national team's head coach Johannes Lukas thinks that the Swedes performed well today and emphasizes Ponsiluoma.

"Has shown that he can shoot better"

- Unfortunately, Martin missed two.

And even though he rode well, it was not enough for a top position, says Johannes Lukas and continues.

- But he has shown this year that he can shoot better.

And what feels most important to me is that he is physically back after some illness problems and it is very strong of him to come back.

23-year-old Sebastian Samuelsson finished in 18th place - after he rolled over in the riot.

For the men, a relay is now waiting in Oberhof on Friday.
