It was only a season with Sochi in the KHL for Joel Lassinantti who returns to Luleå.

The goalkeeper has signed a contract that extends through the 2024/2025 season.

Luleå's general manager Stefan Nilsson says in a press release that the club was not actively looking for a goalkeeper but that "things ended up in a different light" when Lassinantti wanted to return.

- When it became clear that Joel Lassinantti could consider returning to Norrbotten and above all that he was interested in signing a longer contract, things ended up in a different light.

- Joel Lassinantti has been one of SHL's very best goalkeepers during all his six senior seasons with Luleå Hockey and we are convinced that he will be able to be so for another 4.5 seasons in Norrbotten.

It gives us great security in future team building and in the pursuit of success for Vårat Gäng.

The 28-year-old has made over 250 matches with Luleå.
