Although Feyenoord climbed to second place in the Eredivisie on Wednesday thanks to a 1-0 win over PEC Zwolle, Steven Berghuis did not fuel much confidence towards Sunday's Classic.

The captain thought that his team put a bad game on the mat.

"Of course the three points are the most important, but you have to play better," he told

"We played well against VVV, Heerenveen and Sparta and there was real development, but tonight it was below par. We have to look at that."

Feyenoord had its hands full with PEC Zwolle in its own Kuip in a poor duel.

After more than an hour of play, Luis Sinisterra scored the only goal of the match.

"If you keep playing like this, you will also draw or lose", Berghuis fears.

"And we shouldn't have that."

Mountain house happy for match winner Sinisterra

Due to the victory of Feyenoord, the Classic will go between the number one and two of the Eredivisie in the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Sunday.

Just like Feyenoord, Ajax has 35 points, but still has an away match against FC Twente on Thursday.

"We are getting closer and that is good", Berghuis looked at the rankings.

"But we played poorly. Zwolle pulled us apart completely and we came to play in rooms that were too large. We also played at a much too slow pace."

For Berghuis it was a boost that Sinisterra of all people crowned itself the match winner.

For the Colombian, who has just recovered from a serious knee injury, it was his first goal in eleven months.

"If we play him right, he can make a difference. And he did. I'm happy for him."
