A press release said: “The 16th edition of the challenge will be held on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with the participation of 250 drivers from 33 different nationalities, with four drivers taking turns driving in each car, and the number of participating cars is 54 of different types of cars, which include 12 types of cars. Global, they compete on a 24-hour basis ».

The statement reads: “Dubai hosts the inaugural round of the 24-hour races series for 2021, which includes nine international stations. The main race begins at 3:00 pm tomorrow, and the winner of the race will be announced 24 hours after the start, that is, at 3 pm : 00 on Saturday evening ».

The list of participants this year includes a group of the best international drivers, including five drivers who won this championship before in the most exciting GT3 category, and attention will be directed to Emirati champion Khalid Al Qubaisi, who broke the record by winning this tournament, as he is the holder of the title version. The previous one, which he won with the Black Falcon Mercedes - AMGT3 team, and his victory last year is the third title in the tournament, as he won two previous times in 2012 and 2013.

Al Qubaisi drove a Mercedes to win this championship, after a 23-year absence from the podiums in the 24-hour races, as the car's last victory was since 1989, only to return to victory again in 2012, so the car was placed right after it in the Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart.

Al Qubaisi will participate in the Hancock 24 Hours race this year with the newly created HRT Bilstein team, who drives a Mercedes, and will be with him on the team Hubert, Maru Engel, Patrick Eisenheimer and Ryan Ratcliffe. “As we do,” Al Qubaisi said.
