Since we are deprived of the Coupe de France, let's go and look elsewhere to look for a little magic.

In England, the small amateur club of Chorley FC, playing in the sixth division in England, has been writing the beautiful story of Petit Poucet for a few weeks.

First by qualifying for the first time in its history - the club was born in 1895 - for the very symbolic third round of the FA Cup, the one in which the Premier League clubs come into play, eliminating clubs of third division.

But also by celebrating all these victories with an unusual song in the football locker room: a choral version of “Someone Like You” by Adele.

On Saturday, Chorley pulled off the greatest feat in club history, beating Derby County in the Round of 16, and the whole kingdom was waiting for one thing, the post-win song.

Here we go, then - @Adele 🙌 pic.twitter.com/jPhuIvu6dZ

Why Adèle?

Andy Preece, director of football at the club, explains: “We needed a song that was special to us and that everyone knew.

This song, everyone knows the lyrics, and there's a part in the middle where you can really fit into it.

It's great to be able to share something like that at the end of a game, it's great for team spirit.

You need it to win great matches.

In short, everything you need to create a great winter hype.

Moreover, each of the videos of this featuring Adèle - Chorley FC are retweeted thousands of times.

“For a team that was last in the 6th division with zero points after four games, being in the FA Cup fourth round is incredible,” reacted Jamie Vermiglio, team coach and teacher in real life.

Know all the same, for those who are worried about the little respect of these happy football players for barrier gestures, that they have all been tested before the meeting.
